MacGyver Headed to Big Screen

The man who could take a bunch of raincoats and turn them into a hot-air balloon is headed to the big screen. New Line has picked up the rights to develop the genius with a mullet as a feature film. Currently, no writer is attached, but Raffaella De Laurentiis is producing.

One wonders how popular MacGyver would be as a feature film, but thanks to Superbowl ads, and Saturday Night Live, there is a resurgence in interest. Why just the other day, I was talking to two young’uns who were born after 1992 (the year the television series ended), and they knew all about Richard Dean Anderson and his ability to stop a nuclear meltdown with a chocolate bar.
